Creative Recreational Therapy for Real-Life Growth
Guiding families, caregivers, and support teams with practical, engaging activity-based strategies that build confidence, independence, and everyday skills.
What Is Recreation Therapy?
Recreational Therapy uses purposeful, activity-based strategies to help individuals build social, emotional, and life skills, grow confidence, and gain independence. At Rec Life, we work closely with families, caregivers, and support teams to apply these creative, evidence-based techniques so the benefits carry over into everyday life, helping the people they support thrive.
Our Approach to Care Is Simple
Innovation
We approach challenges with creativity and purpose, designing engaging, real-world solutions that make learning enjoyable and help skills stick.
Compassion
We listen, care, and work side by side with families and support teams, creating strategies that feel personal, practical, and meaningful.
Empowerment
We give caregivers the tools, confidence, and support to help individuals thrive, turning knowledge into action that lasts beyond the training session.

Emotion management – navigating feelings through purposeful activities.
Community resources – discovering and using local supports.
Safety awareness – fostering independence while staying safe.
Community participation – encouraging involvement and belonging.

"What Rec Life Has Done for Us..."
“My son is blind and has a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). He also suffers from a rare and severe form of Tourette’s syndrome. Over the course of the few years that Rec Life has been involved, they have gone above and beyond to provide various techniques, activities, and equipment to help him manage anxiety and address physical and emotional challenges. Deanna has gotten him involved in music therapy, rhythm and meditation classes, provided balls with bells and whistles to help him navigate, and encouraged participation in physical activities. She is always coming up with creative ways to support his mobility, anxiety, and self-esteem. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done to help my son, as well as myself, in caring for him.”
“Deanna was extremely helpful in providing resources our son could take advantage of that aligned with his interests. Deanna introduced us to the Jacob’s Chance program, as well as provided visual aides for our son’s group home and day program staff. Thanks to Deanna, our son participates in an online karaoke class plus just wrapped up performing for the third time in the Jacob’s Chance “Night to Shine” annual talent show.”
